(Metro gets a little carried away at the best of times but here goes their said description…)

The tea is actually made from steamed Sencha. Metropolitan states that the Genmaicha additionally has ‘…notably mild nutty overtones…’ Said genmaicha tea (Metro’s version) should be brewed at a higher temp. to bring out it’s noted mild flavour.

PREP CONSIDERATIONS: Genmaicha is tricky—always go by the Master (tea) factory’s suggestions for water temp and SMELL for when it’s actually ready to pour as far as steeping time goes.
ATTN: Don’t rely on the clock to steer you straight with appropriate genmaicha infusion time—YOU yourself are the very best possible judge of this—the more you drink it the more succinctly discerning you will become about just the perfect amount of steeping required.
