Description

We present to you our Mountains of the Moon. This ripe tea got its name not only from the photo we took of it during a tea session, but also for the way it makes us feel when we drink it – out of this world.

Rather than a blend of both larger and smaller leaves, this ripe tea is composed of all mid-sized leaves. This makes it perfect for those who love to brew tea in longer infusions, but still works well in gong fu style brewing as well. You’ll find the brewed liquor of this tea to be very clear and deep red. The flavor earthy, smooth, sweet in shorter steeps. In longer infusions, prepare for lift-off as the power of the leaf is capable of catapulting you to the moon.

Picked and processed in 2011, we visited this area (Lincang) in 2012 and were impressed with the fresh, clean air and lack of cities and traffic. We got a flat tire not far from where this tea was stored for the last 5 years and had one of the best meals ever while we waited for a repair.
