Description

Shoju Sen-nen no Midori(Pine Thousand Years of Green). Pine Thousand years of green is a Zen expression which means that change occurs both when you are attempting to move forward as well as when you are not attempting to move at all. In terms of traditional tea ceremony, the phrase represents the need for continued training and education in order to master the way. While it is obvious that only continued training will help you to achieve a different, albeit higher state of mastery, this expression reminds us that the lack of any training at all will also allow us to achieve a different state of mastery, though it will be a lower level.
