Kuromaicha

A GREAT TEA FOR A BLEAK MONDAY MORNING

Kuromaicha (literally "black rice tea") is a Japanese green tea made of high-heat pan-roasted black rice and Hojicha and Kyobancha roasted green teas. Kuromaicha is an exclusive tea from M&K’s we developed over a period of many months through rigorous experimentation (and failure). Eventually, we found a combination of ingredients we loved, and now we are offering our results to you! Our unique process involves heating the rice dry (no soaking, cooking or use of oil) until it begins to pop, creating distinctive grains with a lovely roasted aroma. We then mix the rice with the green tea and coat the mixture with ground toasted black rice for an even toastier taste.
