Thank you to Stephanie for sending me a sampling of this tea! I’m so happy I get to try it.
The dry leaf has a sweet aroma – sort of like a creamy caramel scent. YUM!
It doesn’t really look like there is much matcha in it, because I’m not seeing a lot of powdery green dust on the dry leaf. The brewed tea is slightly cloudy which indicates that there is possibly some matcha in it.
I can taste the matcha in the flavor from the slight bittersweet flavor that is in the cup. It’s faint, but it’s there.
This tea is a very interesting one. It has a sort of burnt sugar flavor to it that I’m liking… it is an interesting contrast to the sweet, fresh note from the green tea, and the bittersweet flavor from the matcha. I can also taste the soymilk-ish flavor that Stephanie described in her tasting note.
I like this.
On my shopping list! I love Lupicia!
I have been afraid of this for some reason but I might need to try it!
