From Ketlee

This was gone for way too long! So finally adding the crowd favourite Sikkim Green once again, this time from 2021 Autumn season. This tea is made by the Bermiok Tea Estate. We will be adding more about the processing and cultivar to this page in a short while.

The leaves are a beautiful shade of dark and light green along with silver coloured tips. The dry leaves have a toasty smell to them, when placed on the heated ware, they come to life with notes of roasted pistachios with a floral background. Both translate well into the liquor with the nutty note taking center stage, the floral note is mostly comprising of white flowers and adds a nice touch on the finish. There are some caramel notes to be noticed as well, more strikingly when the liquor cools down a little. Sikkim green tea fans would remember it for being an easy drinker, this is no different. The nutty notes add a warmth to the liquor which is balanced by the sweetness of caramel and flowers, making your cup empty sooner than you would like, no worries, you can brew it once again now!

Guh, another note bites the dust.

Kind of a summary of what I lost:

If you’ve ever truly pined for a pistachio-tasting tea, this affordable and organically grown green tea from Sikkim is the one you want to try. Added bonus is the milky caramel aroma and taste. I could see somebody else coming from the chestnut cream angle to describe this tea.

I know this simple and straightforward tea will win some hearts even if it’s not my style.

Thanks for the freebie, Ketlee :)
