“Smooth, sweet, with a clean golden orange soup. Noted a fleeting bitterness and stone fruit aroma. I’d bought a few sheng samples, this one has me wanting a cake. A lovely tea.” Read full tasting note
“this was definitely the tastiest semi aged raw I have tried. There was a sweet note from beginning to end with just a little bitterness in the mix. There was no strong note of leather or tobacco...” Read full tasting note
Jing Long is a small Yi Wu based producer that has been making tea since 1998. This is an Spring harvest 2005 tea cake that was stone-pressed in the traditional manner.
Pressed in Yi Wu from Yi Wu area tea trees, and then stored in Jinghong until December 2016, this has aged well and gives a gold-orange tea soup when brewed. Smooth, sweet with hints of honey and hay. There is a slight dark chocolate bitterness to it that quicky transforms in the mouth to a viscous and lubricating experience!
If you love Yi Wu tea, but want something aged, mellow but still having complexity then this just might be the tea you’ve been looking for!
