This is a light bodied, honey-rose flavored tea. Unlike most white teas, Mutan (“peony”) has a bolder flavor and pleasant aftertaste. White tea has the least amount of processing; just placed on long tables and dried with fans. Research suggests that white tea has the highest amount of anti-oxidants of any tea. Sometimes spelled “Mutan,” this is a relatively new white tea first produced in 1922.
