From Harney & Sons

Creating a blend for Disney’s Minnie Mouse came to us naturally. A black tea base representing those beautiful ears, along with rose petals and natural rose flavor in honor of her rosy nature and bright pink and red outfits! We added honey and caramel for sweetness that represents her positivity and boldness. Just like this tea, Minnie is a star (and she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to prove it!) You go, girl!

Ingredients: Black tea, rose petals, rose flavor, honey flavor, caramel flavor. Contains natural flavors.

Geek Steep S3E5 – The Music of Disney

So this is the tea I drank while recording this episode, and I think the theme is probably preettyyyy obvious. I mean, it was just such a perfect excuse to break out the Disney themed Harney blends. If I owned Micky, that’s definitely the one I would have brewed but I think Minnie is the next best thing…

I love a rose tea, so this simple blend of black tea and roses is pretty spot on for me. It’s very smooth and floral, but because of the addition of caramel there’s a hint of dense sweetness that adds some depth to the aromatic rose. What I like the most is that it’s somehow playful yet elegant and sophisticated which does feel like a perfect encapsulation of Minnie’s character.

August Sipdown Prompt – Lazy Day: make an easy peasy tea

What could be more easy peasy than plopping a couple of sachets into a pot? And forgetting to set a timer?

I guesstimated time remaining and the tea turned out fine. I still have a lot of sachets in the tin, and I like this tea but I doubt I will repurchase. Ashman does not like rose in tea so this only gets attention when I am having tea alone.

Since I do like rose in tea, I have a lot of teas with rose and it gets overwhelming looking at needing to sip down that many by yourself. I have Harney Rose Scented, Czar Nikolas St. Valentine, Lupicia Yume, and probably more. I have finished two tins not long ago by making rose black tea ice cream, which Ashman and my neighbor love, so I will use up some of it that way probably.

This one is rose and caramel, and the rose is pretty forward. I don’t sweeten my tea much, but I bet sugar would bring out the caramel notes more.

Rosehips

Oooh, rose tea ice cream! That sounds amazing.

It was delish! I was copying a recipe from a little local-ish ice cream place. It had chopped pecans in it and was sprinkled with dried petals on top. Beautiful and tasty!
