LOVE this! Golden Moon, why haven’t I tried you sooner?! I think I might have just died and gone to tea heaven! It’s like they read my mind and made a tea just for me. It’s sweet, it’s carmel-ly, it’s a little toasty, and so absolutely satisfying. Must resteep!!!

First time I tried this, I was expecting Milk Duds … but it’s much more elegant and subtle than that.

Stephanie

YAY I’m glad you like it, too :D

Haha, another Golden Moon addict! I still have a bunch of samples from them to try…

So I am a little leery of flavored oolongs, but this one has caught my eye. Is the oolong base a roasted oolong or a more green oolong?

Tealizzy

TeaTiff – it’s kind of in the middle, but I would say the flavor leans more toward the roasted side.

Stephanie

I don’t normally like roasted oolongs, but I totally dig this one with the burnt sugar flavors

Tea & Cards TTB

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea…there’s a subtle caramel smoothness that goes along with the mellow, woodsy oolong notes. It’s not an overly complicated drink, but it goes down easy and lingers in your mouth in a way that’s comforting and rather enjoyable.

I’m not sure if I would buy it for myself, but it is tasty and I could see it going well with a nice dish of Singapore noodles or something all curried and tasty. Gods, now I want takeout…

Thanks to bluebelle for this surprise in our swap! The dry leaves smelled so strongly of caramel and general sugary goodness that I was pretty impatient while letting it steep. The steeped tea smelled and tasted more like a combination of caramel and nuts. I was expecting the caramel, but was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the nuttiness in this tea. It did taste a bit artificial, but much better than other caramel teas that I’ve had that just taste like chemical caramel flavoring. I will savor the rest of my little sample while it lasts!

Cold brewed this overnight. Didn’t know how this would turn out cold but I really liked it!! The color was beautiful and was very smooth and refreshing-not bitter or astringent. I added 1 drop of stevia to it and it really brought out the sugar carmel flavor. Have to say was excellent iced.

I bought this based on the name, but I won’t be buying it again. It smells divine prior to steeping, and hints of caramely goodness and hot sugar waiting to melt in your mouth. Steeped, this tea resembles really old urine from someone who only drinks pop (don’t ask how I know this) and the aroma is greatly weakened. The liquor itself is weak, bland and unremarkable. At best, you can taste the mild, grassy flavor of oolong while catching a little bit of buttery caramel undertones. Very smooth tea, however, bordering on being a cream tea.

The loose leaves smell of a nice caramel. Not like caramel candy but more of a smokey caramel. Brews up to a nice pale yellow color. The taste is nice crisp and light, buttery and earthy but slightly sweet from the caramel and sugar. I can taste hints of the caramel here and their but not too much. All in all it was a nice tea but not too sure if I would buy it again.

Second steeping: (Steep time: 4 Minutes) Less of a sweet taste with more of a buttery taste. Not much else to say.
