I like this spiced rooibos chai. Lots of peppercorn, cinnamon, and anise (licorice? fennel? something like that but very faint). It is pouring rain (and has been for several days now), it has been cloudy with no sun for weeks, and it is quite chilly outside. My province has finally put in a lockdown/mandatory mask order and is it feels cozier than ever to stay indoors in my home. I made this one hot and left the paper teabag in for the hour that I forgot about it. It also has a splash of vanilla soy milk. Overall, I tasty cup. It isn’t as creamy or peppery as coco chai rooibos, but it is still solid.

pepper licorice is what i get from this one. Not the right chai balance for me either, but it’s not terrible. I suspect this might work as a latte…but it won’t be anytihng i’ll be sad about when it’s gone.

Sipdown (371)

Well, it seems Roswell Strange is about to get a whole lot more of this one because I am not a fan. It is far too much star anise for my liking. It’s like spiced licorice which may be nice for some but certainly not to my tastes. Luckily, it is going somewhere it will be appreciated.

Sil

i should try this one haha.

VariaTEA

There may be a tin in the Sil bag for you.

Cold Brew!

I haven’t quite figured out how to work the air conditioning in my new place yet and it runs pretty hot (even with the heating turned off), so I’m relying heavily on cold brewed teas for some rehydration and body heat regulation…

This was good, albeit a little strange. Deeply anise/fennel flavoured, but with a hint of tarty berry to offset some of that black licorice type sweetness.

Air Conditioning… in Canada… in FEBRUARY??? I’m so confused. Wouldn’t you want the heat to be on? (Sorry if I missed something, I just don’t understand why you would need the AC right now!)

Roswell Strange

Lol! It’s a fair question; apparently I must run hot though because I’m always turning the air conditioning on both at home and at work. My ideal room temperature is about 18-20C, but the new apartment seems to sit at about 23.5C and our lab varies anywhere between 20C to 24C…

VariaTEA

I put air conditioning on but also in the winter, I tend to just open a window…and use multiple fans to sleep.
