From Fatbat Puehr

This was released to commemorate the ancient 3200 year old “king tea tree” of Jin Xiu village in Fengqing (the neifei explains how the Fengqing / Dianhong Tea Group is contracted to preserve the village’s old arbor trees and collaborate with farmers in harvesting them responsibly). Rich and smooth, like a warm blanket of honey and white florals with a persistent core of aniseedy root herbs lurking in earlier steeps. Beautifully viscous soup getting thicker later on with a velvet throat coating and “yun”.

This is a gentle, refined tea that demands a quiet environment, performing (in our opinion) above many aged Changtai teas in the same style and price range. Top notch aged puerh (super clean Kunming storage), exhibiting refinement above its price range, without resorting to hong-cha style over-oxidation in the processing like some other teas from this 2005 – 2007 era are guilty of.
