From Dilmah

A bright and bold morning tea. Perfectedly rounded, with body, strength, colour and pungency representing the essence of a fine Ceylon tea. The beautifully even Broken Orange Pekoe leaf yields a burgundy coloured liquor which is robust and strong yet bright with an energetic personality. When brewed for 3 minutes or more, Brilliant Breakfast tea can be enjoyed with milk if desired.

I had the pleasure of trying this tea recently at a high tea. To me, Dilmah usually means a slightly nicer tea supermarket bagged tea, but this was a pretty decent cup! The tea had a lovely malty flavour with that hint of biscuity-honeyness that I love in my favourite Assam estate, Namdang. Huh, a Ceylon that I don’t find revolting! Go figure.

This is not your average breakfast “blend”….this is straight ceylon. I don’t like teas with high astringency, so I was a bit hesitant is choosing this from my cupboard for my morning cup of caffeinated tea…but once I added my milk and sugar I was smiling! This ceylon has a full bodied brightness to it that stood up to my milk and honey just fine… it’s not a tea for a blustery winter morning, but for a chilly spring morning it would be perfect…robust but bright. Try this and surprise yourself. I did!

I have been having this tea for one year, always with fresh milk. A cup in the morning and a cup in the afternoon. It is refreshing. I like it strong. The milk will make the tea aroma come out.

Highly recommended if you like black tea with milk.
