At first smell, the fragrance instantly reminded me of strawberries and rose. I felt more feminine by just the smell, like got transported to a afternoon tea time at a cute tea shop with the girls. The taste after steeping it in 200 F for 3 min was light and almost etherical with a touch of strawberry, the green tea flavor was more forward when i had it plain. As a latte the taste of rose came more subtly forward, with the green tea flavor mellowing out more and a slight after taste of strawberry. It was great, im a fan.

Sipdown! (58 | 274)

This was fine. It’s basically the exact same as every other strawberry green tea I’ve ever had from Deb, with the addition of rose petals. There is a subtle rose note, happily not enough to put me off. But I have a whole tin of Strawberry Roll Cake, and the ingredients are essentially the same. So not sure I understand the point of this blend, and they’re both in the same collection even (Asian Patisserie).

Also this tastes nothing like sakura… It tastes like strawberry and rose with a touch of honey. (shrugs)

The TTB tasting adventures continue! I found this a bit light/bland until I added honey, but adding the honey really brought the flavor out. Unlike others, I didn’t pick up on any floral notes. I DID get a tart cherry note along with the sweet strawberry flavor. It was fine, but not particularly to my personal liking since I really don’t enjoy cherry (and am generally picky about berries).

So a couple weeks ago I finally got my large order of Dessert by Deb teas, I have been actually rather slowly getting through these as I was trying to finish some other teas off.
This is one of the first green ones, I got to.

Preparation: Western
Tasting Note: I went over some of the notes that were posted for this blend to see if I had any differing tasting notes about this blend. I have realized that I don’t have a whole lot else to say about this tea that hasn’t been said already. That being said here are my top three thoughts: 1) I think this is a good floral strawberry tea, the green base is buttery and the fruits blend really nicely to mimic a sweet mild strawberry 2) I don’t think it reminds me of a sakura blossom tea (I have had a couple imported ones and if memory serves they were a little more plum-y tasting), but it isn’t a cloyingly sweet rose tea. 3) This tea is really similar to strawberry jam and toast because of the base but I prefer the strawberry jam and toast because the toasted rice really rounded the tea off nicely. I think if you really like rose florals though this blend might be for you.

I liked this, although it tasted more like a rose-floral strawberry tea to me than anything sakura.

Cold Brew!

Sakura? No. Strawberry? Yes! This was a pretty smooth cold brew with just a nice, upfront fresh strawberry note. Erring a little artifcial perhaps, but more in the way that a Japanese strawberry cake roll might be. Not unpleasant. I liked the creamy, thickness that the coconut contributed to the mouthfeel of the blend – not super present in taste. Even if it didn’t have those cherry blossom flavours it was also floral in its undertones and finish. From the rose, though.
