Double Wall Tea Cups from DAVIDsTEA

Double Wall Tea Cups

The ultimate treat
These are quite possibly the cutest glass cups ever made. They’re mouth-blown, so each one is unique. But it’s really the shape that’s so addictive. Pick one up. The lightweight, borosilicate glass is so luxurious. And the double wall insulates heat so perfectly. Then gaze into your cup and see how gorgeous your tea looks – the colour, the shimmer. It’s totally zen. Each cup holds 50ml

My mother and I decided to go splits on a set of four since neither of us really needed more than two each, they certainly add a level of whimsy to our tea gear collections. I have decided to lovingly call them ‘fairy cups’ because they look magical and they are so delicate that it is not at all hard to imagine fairies or even Tolkienian elves sipping from them.

They are very tiny, perfect for a really rare tea where you only have a small amount or if you are doing a ton of steeps and don’t want to end up sloshing when you move. These are not everyday cups, very much so a special occasion or just ogling the design kind of cup.

The price was very reasonable for the set of four, probably the best price for this style cup that I have found (and I browsed around a lot). My only complaint is I am so afraid of breaking them, my hands are arthritic so I tend to drop things a lot so HOPEFULLY I have not doomed these cups to a nasty floor smashing by owning them.

I just got this set of 4 on sale, for $4.75. Totally worth it. The cups are super cute, and are perfect for my 200ml tea pot. It’s also surprisingly easy to sip from the rounded edge. I tend to spill a lot (so clumsy!) but I haven’t had any problems with these so far.

Love these. They are small, but nice to have with a tea that you just want to sip. I love the double-walled look.

I bought two of these a few months ago. One of them got a round hole, not a crack, in the inner layer. It made me wonder if glass is used on the inside layer? or is a plastic insert? I am searching out a glass cup and saucer and be glad to bid these goodbye.

I bought these January of 2013 when they were on a big sale (they were already decently priced to begin with, but were a major steal when i got them) and I absolutely adore them! They’re super cute and well built. I mainly use them when I do gung fu brewings and they’re just perfect! I don’t have a cha hai, but my 1 cup pyrex measuring cup does a fine job for now.
