Description

An exceptional and exclusive green tea from the Indian Darjeeling area, produced in limited quantities. The leaves are hand-picked and carefully sorted, consisting of a tip and the first two young leaves. The uniqueness of this green tea lies in the cultivar of the shrubs from which it is harvested. These are Japanese shrubs of the famous cultivar Yabukita, which is a great rarity in Darjeeling and is grown on a trial basis in only a few gardens. This particular tea comes from our friendly Rohini Garden and is a gem among the green teas in Darjeeling and the green teas in the world. It tastes like some very expensive Chinese teas, even though it is grown in India from a Japanese cultivar. The leaf is processed into loose, unrolled leaves giving off the scent of green bananas and limes. The steamed leaf opens a sweet grassy aroma with tones of exotic fruit. The taste is delicious without tannins, with a rich and complex taste. It can withstand a lot of infusions. A real treat for all lovers of green tea.
