I have been looking for a Mint Oolong for a LONG time like this one! Strong Mint and plump Oolong…plain and simple…well, not really plain…but simple. It’s the classic case of K>I>S>S> and it works! If you are like me and LOVE mint you will probably like this one! The mint is intense but that is EXACTLY what I was looking for being a MINT LOVER and all. Because there are not many Mint Oolongs on Steepster or many that I have tried or are readily available I am rating this high…not only for those reasons but because I DO like this very much! Very refreshing, very mint, very tasty!

I was not going to buy this one, but one of the teas I had wanted to order was out of stock, so I substituted with this one instead. I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

The dry tea smells strongly of very strong peppermint. Like those little white ovoid peppermint candies that you get at a restaurant after a meal. The hot tea tastes like strong and spicey peppermint. Not the sweet kind of peppermint candy, but the kind of peppermint candies that mean business. As the tea begins to cool, there is still a peppermint taste but the floral, green oolong becomes stronger. I think this one would be great iced. Not my favourite oolong, but certainly glad that I picked it up.

Backlog…..from 2 weeks ago.
Personal note—I have been sick for the last 2 weeks with really bad acid reflux and couldn’t drink any tea :( But, now I am back, having tea in small moderate amounts.

Thank you to Lala for this tea in our swap!

As the name mentions, this tea is very minty. However, I am not getting much spice, but that is completely fine by me. This is a delicious oolong.

Geez, I’m glad you’re doing a little better, at least. That sounds awful.

Picked this one up during Butiki’s Black Friday sale especially for my mom. It clearly smells quite minty, and my mom tells me that it doesn’t taste like peppermint to her, but just… minty! And quite strong, too! I’m sick so I didn’t sample out of her cup, but I may get her to leave part of one infusion for me just out of curiousity’s sake… not that I’ll be able to taste too much of it anyways!

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a mint oolong before. Sounds interesting.

Kittenna

Yes! My mom thought it would be, and seems to like it. I can’t tell you what the oolong contributes as opposed to, say, a green tea, though. It is a green oolong though.

Well hello new fave tea!

I love the blend of this one, the spicy and the mint blend together romantically and perfectly. The oolong is the perfect backdrop for this romance. Love it!

Wow! Super minty and very tasty. I put a little sugar just to see how that was and it was like the taste of minty chewing gum. It made my mouth feel minty fresh, not bad at all.

I randomly chose this as one of my samples. Thank you Stacy and Butiki Teas!

Intense and simple, I don’t think I’ve had a mint tea that’s this potent. There are two flavours: mint and milky green oolong- both of which give everything they’ve got. They meld together impressively, and I have a hard time discerning where one begins and the other ends.

I was going to write up a quick note before I went onto a second steep but I’m glad I didn’t. The flavours are never as cohesive in the first. Not so prevalent in the first cup, I’m actually getting the sensation of eating authentic mint leaves on the second go!

I could see this being a perfect accompaniment with a mint friendly savory meal or dessert. The finish is oolong creaminess and the aftertaste is pure mint leaf. Spicy peppery note is very faint near the finish.

The mint is indeed very intense. It actually cools my mouth, even with the tea being hot.

I cannot get over how huge the leaves are!!! Amazing. A very light brew and if you need to freshen your mouth after a meal, this is one to reach for. My only problem is that it is so minty (and I do love minty things) that it reminds me of the dentist. I won’t keep it on hand but I’m glad I got to try this sample. I think it is a quality tea, but not for me.

And now I am out of new teas to sample. Until my Harney order comes in, anyway… So much for clearing out the cupboard. I couldn’t help it. It looked so empty…

Butiki Teas seems to have a talent for making flavoured oolongs and they work with green oolongs rather than the dark ones as their bases with is unusual. This one tastes like it might be an ali shan given its subtly sweet lilac notes. The mint flavouring is fresh and crisp and provides a counterpoint to the sweetness and there’s a hint of spicy that reminds me of pepper without the heat. Very unique – I’m not sure I love this tea but it gets points for creativity.

Finishing this one up today. It is indeed minty. Feels kinda like I’m brushing my teeth. But in a good way, it’s quite refreshing.
