“Been trying to work through the BLT sheng samples I have sitting around. Gave it a wash and a quick steep. Not too much flavor in the first steep. Soft and like. A bit of hay, in my opinion, with a...” Read full tasting note

Description

This is a smooth, sweet, and very easy to drink tea. Made from 2015 Da Xue Shan (“Big Snow Mountain”) huang pian (yellow leaves), this tea provides high quality ancient tree material, but without the ancient tree price. Having spent a longer amount of time on the tree, these larger leaves also are rich in nutrients and minerals, ensuring this tea is not lacking in flavour.

This tea brews out a nice golden yellow, with less bitterness and astringency than most raw puers of similar age. It’s an excellent tea for those who are just starting out with raw puer and perhaps looking for a gentler reception, but also provides adequate flavour and depth for those who just want a great, affordable tea to drink regularly. This tea is also relatively easy to brew, as it’s more forgiving when over-steeped.
