Ashitaba, or “Angelica Keiskei Koidzmi”, is an herb grown in Hachijo Island in Japan. It has been recently gaining popularity in the scientific field and in traditional medicine, and is said to promote circulation, guard against common diseases and supply vital nutrients to the blood. It also contains chalcones, a rare natural occuring substance that are made up of flavonoids. These particular flavonoids have antioxidants that are even more potent than other green teas.
