From Bird & Blend Tea Co.

Now this is a classic from the biscuit tin. The humble gingernut! Although these biscuits don’t look like much, they sure do pack a punch.

They are usually perfect to dip in a cuppa, but we have gone one step further – we have made them into a loose leaf black tea blend. That’s right, pop the kettle on, brew this up and sip on the taste of a gingernut dipped in a classic cuppa – delicious!

Limited edition blend only available until 1st July 2023. Biscuits to dunk not included!

Ingredients: Sri Lankan Black Tea, Ginger, Cinnamon, Natural Flavouring

I’ve been putting off trying this one because I’m a little fickle about ginger, but it was actually kind of perfect!? Just ginger-y enough with undertones of cinnamon and a smooth but full bodied black tea base. Most importantly, though, it really nailed that more golden and kind of malty biscuit flavour. From sip one I really felt like it was quite accurately conveying the namesake inspiration, and I ended up enjoying the profile a lot. Made me want to dunk actual biscuits in it!

This smells so gingery! I’m a fan of gingernut biscuits, so I was looking forward to this blend. The ginger definitely comes through strongly in the steeped tea. With milk and sugar, it really does taste like gingernut biscuits! The ginger lingers for a little while, though it could have been a bit spicier. So as usual, I wish for a bit more flavoring, but this is really quite decent!

AJRimmer Advent Day 25

My kitchen smelled AMAZING while this one was brewing…almost like I was baking a late batch of gingerbread a few days after Christmas! Unfortunately, the flavor didn’t live up to the aroma. The ginger was STRONG and drowned out any other cookie flavors that might have been present. I like ginger, so I still enjoyed it, but would have appreciated a bit more complexity to the flavor.
