“The tea itself is not spectacular, but the saffron gives it an interesting overall flavor.” Read full tasting note
This tea is grown at the shores of Yigong Lake in Linzhi Prefecture, Tibet, at high alititude (7,000 feet) and at the base of huge mountain peaks providing crystal clear run-off, with perfect mist and cloud conditions for tea growing. The tea plants are organically grown; the certification comes from China Green Food Development Center, and is recognized internationally. Finished tea products are manufactured at the Tibet Taiyang Company. The factory meets all modern standards for cleanliness and well-controlled production methods. Unlike other companies that produce tea bags with tea remnants left over from first quality loose tea leaf, the Taiyang factory uses the first quality tea for both the loose tea and the tea bags. The tea bag and string are natural fiber. This tea product is often provided as a gift for visitors to Tibet.
