From Adagio Teas

Wenshan Mist is a mao feng leaf tea grown in the natural beauty of the mountainous Yunnan province in China. The large dark leaves offer a sweet cup with fruity notes of plum, complex white grape, and hints of springtime flowers. This is a new and rare green from an area known traditionally for its black teas.

In China, “Buddha’s light” is a phenomenon where colored light rings similar to small rainbows appear around the shadows of people or objects during misty conditions. The Huangshan mountains in the Anhui province and Mount Emei in the Sichuan province are particularly well-known for the phenomenon, which is often associated with enlightenment. In optics, perhaps because of their similarity to haloes, instances of Buddha’s light are also known as “glories.” This tea comes from the misty mountains of Yunnan to the south, where Buddha’s light is less common, but one thing we’ll say for the tea there? It is glorious.

Green Tea | Moderate caffeine | Steep at 180° for 2-3 minutes.

A good everyday green tea that’s a nice balance between vegetal and floral. Slightly astringent and good for multiple infusions.
