Forest Berries

It smells a lot like strawberry mixed with raspberry, which is good because that is what is in it. Now the taste while warm is like a low quality jam. There is a strong astringency that is very distracting from the real flavor of it. Now once it has cooled these problems leave it and the berry flavor really comes out and it ends up being very smooth and enjoyable. So it seems iced would be the best thing for this.

So this is no bueno. Berry flavors are up front and aggressive. It’s very much like what I’d expect a berry perfume to be. Maybe just a little too much artificial stuff going on here. The base seems to be particularly finicky as my normal flavored tea brewing parameters turned out a bitter tea. Most of the time those parameters work well on flavored teas. I don’t think I’ll revisit this one any time soon.

This is a little perfume-y, a little bitter, and the berry flavoring isn’t exactly what I want, for whatever reason. Maybe I’m just used to Frank’s Razzleberry.

I can’t say that I liked this.

It smelled really artificial in the bag and was a bit bitter and unmemorable in the cup…except, I still taste it in the back of my throat. Ugh.

I’m going to try this iced before I throw a rating on this.

not too bad just do not oversteep. got this as a sample drinkable but not an everyday tea. did about 185 temp since it was a fruit tea.

So far, this is my ‘go to’ tea whenever people are coming over. I’ve had several tea parties where this has been the star & no one has ever had a bad thing to say about it.

I appreciate the aroma during brewing. And I let this tea steep for a few minutes before straining it. Sometimes I even leave the tea leaves in while it’s been kept warm on a tea warmer. I don’t think the flavor gets bitter…..although it could just be because we finish the pot too fast!

This tea is one to always have on hand. It’s perfect hot or iced.

There is a wonderful berry flavor. The smell during brewing matches the flavor during drinking. I love that.

This is one of four teas in the black tea berries sampler pack, I hope they get better because this was pretty disappointing. I drank my first cup hot and it was really bitter, this dissipated a little as the tea cooled. I tasted more raspberry than strawberry, but it was artificial tasting and not at all what I was expecting. I liked this cold better, my second cup lost some of the bitterness, but still left me feeling pretty meh. A little sweetener would probably help, but I try very hard to avoid sweetening my tea.

This is one of my favorite flavored blacks from Adagio. I think they got it right here. Works well iced. Great aroma.

Wow… I thought this tea sounded like a good idea. I usually love berry flavored anything, but I couldn’t stand this stuff. It has a strange scent that turned me off before I brewed it. Couldn’t even finish my first cup. I ended up dumping it out.

Thanks very much, SkySamurai!  The dry leaves certainly had a very fragrant berry scent!  The flavor of the tea isn’t quite as delicious – leaving a berry vitamin sort of note, that is probably really from the raspberry leaves… though I didn’t notice many raspberry leaves in the blend.  I’m just glad it’s not mostly hibiscus.  The second steep I’m noticing the black tea base has that tomato soup note that black teas have been tasting like to me lately… so I’m not sure that tomato soup note fits with berries.  Most of Steepster seems to agree on this one: Nice to sample but nothing to keep around.
