English Breakfast is a full-bodied black tea blend that goes well with a traditional English breakfast. The original cup was made with black Keemun tea from Anhui province in China. Across many generations, plenty of different interpretations of this famous blend have been made. Our English Breakfast stays close to the classic. Made from top quality black Keemun tea, prized for its rich, slightly smoky flavor and perfectly ‘on point’ astringency. Balanced, very honeyed aroma. May be enjoyed plain or with a drop of milk. This fine example of English Breakfast remains one of Adagio’s most popular varieties.

English Breakfast is the platonic ideal of teas. If I were going to go on a trip and could only take one tea with me, it’d be this one. It just tastes like tea. Nothing fancy, no extra flavors, just delicious tea. Irish Breakfast used to be my number one tea for introducing people to good tea, but once I tried this one it was my new favorite.
Good basic English Breakfast. Still learning to like this as it is slightly stronger than I care for but it is not bad at all.
Adagio’s version of English Breakfast does its best to distinguish itself from this workhorse of black tea blends. Touches of smoke and pepper come through with the steady malt flavour. A good choice for a casual drinker who wants branch out into more adventurous tea tasting but isn’t quite ready to leave the comfort of the familiar breakfast-style teas.

This one was a freebie sample. I don’t mind the English breakfast teas in gereral, because I usually find them perfectly casual, but I wouldn’t buy them of my own will. So I’m glad I got this one for free.
And I really like the smell. There’s wood, a bit of smoke, a bit of wet cardboard, some earthiness and even a bit of dark chocolate. Very rich and complex aroma.
And this woody smokiness dominates the flavour. It’s not very strong, just seems to be the main characteristic over an earthy background. There’s also some residual sweetness that complements the taste and very slight astringency.
All in all, it’s a very good tea. Maybe it’s time to review my approach to English breakfasts?

This was in my kitchen from the previous order. It has a nice malty scent. The flavour is sorta light malt, but I might not have brewed long enough. Pretty good, and will try again with milk. Had this morning while watching Supernatural.

I prepared this brew as per the package instructions; adding a splash of milk. Once steeped, I was pleasantly surprised with Adagio’s take on this classic. The aroma was deliciously inviting. As for the first sip, the tea is a very hearty, and robust tea. I believe that this particular blend was stronger than other English Breakfasts that I have tried; perfect for an early morning wake up call.

This is a decent Breakfast Tea, I’ve been making it in the Keurig so I crush the bigger leaves that seems to work pretty good in the machine. Tastey bold cup of Tea, typical of a breakfast tea I use a splash of milk in it.
