Tea of the Week for December 13, 2021!
inspired by a Ukrainian candy, this tea starts with a blend of Yunnan teas (Royal Yunnan & Golden Yunnan) & Assam, combined with freeze-dried apricots & a special blend of essences to create a sweet, caramel-y note. This yummy tea makes a delicious dessert tea – or a delightfully indulgent breakfast tea!
This tasty tea is organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-free & all natural!
more about this tea: this tea was inspired by a Ukrainian candy. There are several different flavors of the candy, but the one that stood out to me most (probably because it was the first one I tried) was the apricot one – so that’s why I’m featuring it as the “Minky Binky” flavor.
The apricot isn’t really all that distinct in the candy itself, but it’s there. The flavor was more burnt sugar caramel with notes of sweet apricot that balanced out the bitterness from the burnt sugar. It was a delightful little treat – one that made me think – mmm – tea. (That happens a lot with me.)
organic ingredients: black teas, freeze-dried apricots, calendula petals & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch. use 3g of leaf to 12oz nearly boiling water (205°F). allow to steep for 3 minutes. strain & allow to cool for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I like this one hot best – it’s good iced too, but there’s just something about a caramel-y tea when it’s served hot. I prefer it with a little bit of sugar – it highlights the sweetness of the caramel a bit more than served without the sweetener. Also amazing as a latte.
