Description

Tea of the Week for August 2, 2021!

It took some tweaking to get this tea where I wanted it to be. It even took some hibiscus! (Gasp!) Under most circumstances, hibiscus is a nope. Generally speaking, I’m not a big fan of hibiscus. When overdone, it can overwhelm a blend. When oversteeped, the hibiscus will get very thick & syrupy (not a very pleasant texture to me, personally) & unpleasantly tart (again, too tart for me).

But, for this blend, it helps enhance the tangy notes of the blood orange just enough – as well as provide a pleasing raspberry tint to the steeped liquid. (Just make sure that you don’t have too much hibiscus in your measurement when you steep it – one flower per serving should suffice.)

The base for this blend is our amazing Genmaicha. I added a bunch of dried blood orange wedges, some vanilla beans & a bit of hibiscus. The result is a tea that is sweet & creamy, just a little bit toasty from the Genmaicha & bit tart from the blood orange & hibiscus. It tastes like an amazingly delightful twist to the classic summertime creamsicle treat … only better, because TEA!

This blend is organic, VEGAN, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all natural!

organic ingredients: green tea, toasted/popped rice, blood oranges, hibiscus, vanilla bean & natural flavors
