Description

Tea of the Week for April 6, 2020!

Our first tea from our “Celebration of Spring” Collection!

Our final new tea for our Celebration of Spring collection – this blend starts with organic Chinese Sencha green tea – to which I added chopped bits of air-dried watermelon & cantaloupe. The result is a delicious melon flavored green tea that can be enjoyed either hot or iced (I personally prefer this one iced!) Sweet, refreshingly light & tasty.

I like this because it isn’t too sweet – it doesn’t taste like a candied watermelon and/or cantaloupe. It tastes very true to the fruit. A beautiful melon medley that’s organic, VEGAN, gluten-free & allergen-free!

organic ingredients: green tea, cantaloupe, watermelon & natural flavors

YUMMM! I have been so eager to create a melon tea for some time now, but I wanted to wait for spring because it’s very much a springtime (or summertime) flavor. It would have seemed odd (at least to me) to have a melon flavored tea in the fall or winter.

This tastes like fresh cantaloupe & watermelon. It’s sweet & juicy tasting. I like that I taste the fruit very clearly, but there is also the sweet, creamy, light flavors of the Sencha. It’s a fantastic combination of flavors.

to brew: use 2 1/2 grams to 12 ounces of very hot water (heated to 170°F) & steep for 2 minutes. strain & allow to cool for 5 minutes. for iced tea, allow the tea to cool completely & then refrigerate.

This tea tastes amazing without sweetener. I did a taste test – trying it both unsweetened as well as sweetened. A small amount of sugar will enhance the cantaloupe & watermelon flavors – not a bad thing at all – but if you prefer to not use sugar, the fruit flavor is still there & it’s quite delicious without addition.
