Backlog:

I didn’t have high hopes for this blend, to be honest. I’m not a big fan of grape. I love pomegranate, but when it comes to grape, I love the fruit but not so much the “grape flavored” things with which the candy makers of the world seem intent to saturate our taste buds. Ugh. I don’t like grape flavored soda, I don’t like grape ice pops, I don’t like grape candies. It doesn’t taste like grape. It tastes like something that maybe the Grape Ape from those cartoons in the 70s produced and I don’t want to know what body part they came from.

That said, I have found a few grape flavored teas I’ve enjoyed and I was pleasantly surprised by this pomegranate and grape flavored tea. You should let this tea cool for a few minutes before you start sipping because when this tea is freshly poured and piping hot the flavors taste rather muddled.

It’s a sweet tasting tea but not overly sweet. The tartness of the pomegranate flavors offset the candy-sweet flavor of the grape and I think that’s what makes this tea enjoyable for me. I’m tasting more “grape” and less “artificially flavored grape soda” with this tea.

I’m the same way about grape flavours. I can’t stand that purple fake grape stuff, but I really enjoy real, fresh grape flavour, and some of my favourite teas lately have had strong natural grape notes.

LiberTEAS

Yes, I like the grape notes like you might find in a Darjeeling. On the rare occasion I’ll find a real grape flavor that is enjoyable, but the candy grape flavor just doesn’t taste at all like grape to me.
