Tea of the Week for September 4, 2023!
I know I say this a lot but: I love fall! It’s my absolute favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather & the beauty of the changing colors of the leaves. I love the sound of those fallen leaves as they crackle under my feet & of course, the welcome flavors of warm autumnal spices, pumpkin & pear. (I love other autumnal flavors too, of course, but since these are the flavors that are being celebrated in this blend, I’ll just stick to them for now!)
This blend was inspired by thoughts of a pumpkin patch. Perhaps that pumpkin patch was nestled between pear trees that are showing off their finest fruits. Now, imagine the tea crafted by those thoughts: a rich black tea base (Assam, Yunnan & Ceylon) with a touch of honeybush for sweetness, pumpkin, pears, some autumnal spices (because what is pumpkin without a little bit of cinnamon?) & a kiss of sweet butterscotch (vegan, of course!) – why not?
This tea is tastes like autumn! The pumpkin is well pronounced. The butterscotch highlights the pumpkin really nicely. The spices are subtle but add a nice warmth & depth to the flavor. The hint of pear offers the taste buds a nice surprise in the aftertaste. A perfect fall tea!
It’s vegan, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all natural!
organic ingredients: black teas, honeybush, pumpkin pieces, pears, allspice, cinnamon, calendula petals & all natural flavors
to brew: Give this blend a good shake to redistribute all the ingredients. There’s a fair few ingredients to this blend so you want to make sure you get a little bit of everything in every measurement!
Use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F). Steep for 3 minutes, strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes for best flavor.
This tea is amazing served without any additions, I like it with just a teensy bit of sweetener as I find this will highlight the butterscotch notes which is my absolute favorite part of this tea. Try it with a teensy bit (about ½ a teaspoon) of sugar – brown sugar if you really want to go totally decadent! You’ll be glad you did!
