Please Note: This listing is for Lemon Dream Herbal Tisane crafted in 2023. There is an additional listing for Lemon Dreams Chamomile/Rooibos crafted back in 2012. These are two different teas! Thank you!

Tea of the Week for March 27, 2023!

A lovely blend of herbs featuring lemon-y herbs & marshmallow root & leaf! It’s soft & sweet, with a pleasing fluffy note plus a bright lemon flavor that shines through.

A perfect little lemon-y drink that’s organic, naturally caffeine-free, vegan, gluten-free & all natural!

organic ingredients: lemon balm, lemon grass, lemon myrtle, lemon peel, lemon thyme, lemon verbena, lemons, marshmallow leaf, marshmallow root & natural flavors

more about this tea: this is a brand new blend that I created for Reblend Month – I hadn’t planned on creating a new blend during Reblend Month – because . . . REBLEND month. However, when I went to the tea studio to create the reblend I had planned on crafting, I realized (in the middle of blending!) that I didn’t have enough of all the ingredients I needed to reblend the tea I had planned on – so this blend is inspired by the tea I had planned on reblending – but takes it a step further with the addition of Marshmallow Root & Marshmallow Leaf.

The blend I had planned on reblending is called Lemon-AID – which is an herbal blend of all things lemon-y, and while I had some of all the ingredients, I didn’t have enough of them to complete the blend – so rather than place an order to get a small amount of all those lemon-y herbs, I decided to instead add some marshmallow root & marshmallow leaf & see what happens.

What happened is this lovely blend that is bright with lemon-y notes but with a soft, fluffy note that softens the tartness of the lemon just a bit. It’s like a soft, sweet lemony cloud! A dream – in lemon.

Lemon LOVE!

to brew: shake the blend well before measuring out. Actually, I would recommend stirring the blend – if you possibly can – as the herbs are somewhat “fluffy” & don’t necessarily “shake” very well, so, if you can get a clean, dry spoon in the pouch and give it a little bit of a stir to mix around the ingredients, that would be better than “shaking”.

Measure 3 ½ grams of the herb blend to 12oz of very hot water (190°F) & allow to steep for at least 8 minutes. This blend has no tannins, so it won’t get bitter – it will just get more flavorful the longer you steep it. I find that 8 minutes produces a perfectly lovely cuppa, though, but if you want an even intense flavor, steep it longer! Strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. Enjoy!

serving suggestions: I have not yet had the opportunity to try this cold-brewed, but I suspect it’s going to be absolutely amazing. It’s delicious served hot – it’s also really good when you step away from your cup and come back to it an hour or so later and it’s cold. It’s just good.

It’s good without sweetener, but I personally find it a bit more on the herbaceous side without a little bit of honey or sweetener of some kind – good, but a bit more herbaceous than I want it to be – so I do add a small drizzle of honey which softens the herbaceous note just enough. And with the honey, it’s remarkably soothing! So very good!

This was slightly more herbaceous than I would prefer. I did end up enjoying it cold though. The lemon is light and a little pillowy. I learned to keep my steep shorter, and I didn’t notice anything negative, just pleasant lemon. Since this blend is light, I’ve gotten to have it a lot of times, and I like it, but there are other herbal lemon blends I prefer.

November Sipdown Prompt – an herbal tisane

Sipdown

I drank this one mostly hot and unsweetened but I did make a carafe for cold sweet tea. It is hard to say which was best because both ways were very good. It is like a lemon drop candy bumped into marshmallow fluff! Yummy!

Lemon fluff! The combo of sweet, soft lemon and silky marshmallow really is a dream! So glad this one’s a tisane so I don’t have to worry about caffeine content. It reminds me, favorably, of Della Terra’s lemon chiffon. The flavoring there was lemon and cream on a rooibos/honeybush base, but both teas share a certain lemon-on-a-cloud vibe that I really love. Would be cool to see lime and orange variations on this blend! Those were tasty variants of the chiffon formula.

This blend was crafted in March 2023 as part of the Reblend Month selections. It was inspired by Frank’s blend Lemon-AID. I had originally planned on crafting Lemon-AID, but when I got to the studio, I didn’t have enough of the herbs to create Lemon-AID – so I added Marshmallow Leaf & Root – and created Lemon Dream Herbal Tisane!

This tea also has a name that is extremely similar to another blend (aka Lemon Dreams Chamomile/Rooibos). I guess after having over 900 different blends, this company is bound to have a similar name? Yeah, I guess I’ll go with that excuse.

Anyway – sorry about it – I hope it doesn’t cause too much confusion.

Now, about this tisane! It is SO GOOD! It’s one of my favorite herbal tisanes I’ve ever crafted – granted, I don’t usually make an herbal tisane, usually, I use either rooibos, green rooibos or honeybush in my blends – which, technically, I guess these are actually herbs – so what I’m trying to say is that usually, I go with one of these herbs as a base for my herbal blends, this is an exception to that, as it is all lemony & marshmallow-y herbs – no rooibos or honeybush!

This is lightly lemon-y with a sweet, fluffy, marshmallow-y note. It’s not a tart lemon, but more of a sweeter lemon, evoking thoughts of a fluffy lemon curd. Imagine marshmallows marbled with lemon curd. Sweet, creamy & so good!
