New Tasting Notes

It’s a good value for a 10 year old black pu-erh. I picked this one up at Tea Lucky in Taipei, Taiwan. The proprietor carries a large selection of pu-erh, both young and old.
Like most black pu-erhs, this one lacks many of the subtle flavors and richness found in the green pu-erhs.

I drank this with some raw sugar and cream, it was excellent. Great for the raining Beaverton weather.

Not from this brand, it was a blend from a small coffee shop in Portland, OR, but I can’t remember the specific blend or it’s name. It was delicious though, soothed my sore throat.

I can taste more Almond than Tangerine. (I am having it as a follow-up to some chocolate.) Next to NO smell. It has a nice coloring tho. After a 2nd and 3rd taste you begin to get more hints of the tangerine. It’s fairly good.

Nice combination of a little sweet and a little tart. Pretty strong; I don’t steep this for very long.

Had to steep longer than directed. Pleasant – Light in taste. Before steeping light aroma…after steeping next to NO scent. If you are a beginner or aren’t into a strong tea taste…try this.

Great follow up to a spicy tea or meal!

I’m neutral on this one. I never add milk or sweetener to anything I do at home or at the office. This might be good if you add a little-somethin’-somethin’ but the spices sure are at full force which might turn some people off if you aren’t expecting it. I like the taste and color. Aroma is a bit more than I care for and the the proof is in the “bag”…it’s discolored before steeping. I would drink it again, but I’m not sure if it’s something I would say that I LOVE tho.

Strong aroma. Dark in Color. Full in taste. All evens out well.

Good morning! :) Starting off with one of my faves.

I drank this several times over the weekend, iced and unsweetened from Starbucks. My favorite iced tea. :)

Unusual blend, because Osthmanthus is usually overpowering and white tea is generally very subtle. Almost a waste using Silver needle as a base tea because you can’t really taste it and it would be too expensive to use premium SN. However, I do love Osthmanthus, but I would rather have a blend like Osthmanthus and oolong so I can taste both flavors and not just the flower and less expensive for better quality.

For beginners, I think they would like this tea, it’s subtle and fruity, exactly what the label says. But for me, it was nice to try, but wouldn’t drink on a regular basis.

The entry grade is a good basic Golden Yunnan, bold, hint of spice. Lighter second infusion brings out some of the sweetness. A great tea for people just getting into tea or like black tea, but connoisseurs will apt for the premium version.

I added a little splenda and a little organic milk. It’s wonderful like drinking a peppermint patty.

The Currant Taste is more powerful than the aroma. The coloring is awesome!

Smooth and buttery and smells just like melted caramel. Yum! Having it warm but would love to try it cold with the milk and sugar.
