New Tasting Notes

After a much longer second steep, this tea is flavorful. Not my favorite of the flowering teas, but still very good!

Water just off the boil, 6 min, added sweetener. The orange and mint give the green maté a good flavor, as it seems almost flavorless to me by itself.

Again, I’m loving how pretty these teas are. This one tastes a bit weak, so I’m hoping the second (longer) steep is a bit more flavorful.

The only Pu-ehr I’ve got and it was sample-sized to begin with! This is not okay, I need to be tea shopping soon. Except then I’ll be laughed at by friends and family for already having more teas than I can remember.
Unfortunately it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to get more of this particular one. Not very old for a pu-ehr, but very mild in flavour, I think. I’d like to try something older than this.

Refreshing, Refreshing, Refreshing! Bitter sweet under tones with the classic mint flavor. Wonderful!

Having another cup of this and getting towards the end of the sample packet. I’ll be ordering a full packet of this one.

Opening the packet, the smell was not so grassy, but it almost reminded me of oolong. The leaves as well are blue-grey. I was expecting a fluorescent green colour because I have just been drinking sencha, but it has th colour of honey and the smell of the brew is sweet too. I could eat some lemon cake with this for sure. After all that, the taste was a little disappointing. Or at least, not quite what I expected. I’ll have to drink it again to decide what I thnk

The second steep was good as well, but not as strong as the first one. I don’t really know what to expect, but this is prefectly pleasant after a second steep. I didn’t try a third for fear of it being hot water with no flavour whatsoever

Very strange ….. This tea tastes better to me when I brew it like a black, and (I swear) it doesn’t get bitter. At a reduced time and temp, like a green tea, it develops less flavor.

The citrus and cinnamon make first impressions, while the fresh bush tastes linger. Not very sweet, so I added agave nectar.

Second steep was for way longer than recommended. Probably about half an hour! I added some agave before even sipping, but after trying it, I don’t think the sweetener was even needed!

Smells like fresh juicy peaches. It’s nice but I think it will make a better iced tea.

Nice hot tea. I am happy with the bite.

Thumbs up for the display as much as the taste. This is a good cup of black tea, but the thing that sets it apart is the flower. I know my second cup will steep past the point I typically like, but I’m still looking forward to the second cup.

4th steeping, I let it go 8 min this time. The astringency of the first 2 steeps has been replaced by a woodiness which is greener and sweeter than the 3rd steep. Without multiple infusions of this tea, I’d never have known how good it can be.

This never fails …

This was incredible. A real change from all the gunpowder green tea I have had so much recently. It was strong and a little grassy and not at all bitter. After all the logs on here talking about multiple steeps, I will save the leaves for another steep or two tomorrow – can’t wait!

2nd steep, also for way longer than recommended. Had this cup with agave nectar. Still great!
