New Tasting Notes

180F water, 3 min. Very pale green liquor. All I can taste is moderate ginger. The slight astringency tells me that tea is there, but I don’t know how matcha tastes or what variety of green was used. I don’t yet know what to make of this tea.

Wow… I love this tea!

If you are unsure about Honeybush…give this one a try…it’s unlike any I have had…altho I DO like Honeybush, this is a bit different than the stereotypical Honeybush.

I love the balance of malt & fruitiness.

Working through the second half of the first two cup pot I’m not as sure about my feelings for this tea as I was when I began. When the tea first hits the tongue it does have a slightly heavy tone on the sides of the tongue, which is something that always characterized Bigelow’s Orange Spice for me, as well as something that I didn’t particularly care for in that tea. I’m glad this tea only releases tart notes on the back of the tongue, because tartness upon the drink first entering the mouth would have turned me off almost immediately. One bonus is that this tea has quite the pleasant aftertaste…

I brewed this in a small pot, so that I could taste it at intervals through the steeping…
The recommended five minute brew-time in an 8 oz mug with boiling water is absolute ridiculousness, as this tea gets strong fast. It was brewed quite strong two minutes in in a 16 oz pot with nearly-boiling water.
Upon tasting this tea, it’s slightly reminiscent of the Orange Spice tea by Bigelow, albeit much, much better. It has an almost-Orange Starburst taste, minus the sour flavour. All around a decent-tasting tea, but not something I would drink daily.

The smell is somewhat spicy but when brewed the tea is rich and very enjoyable.

Had it today at the cafe. It was okkay and woke me up, but wasn’t very strong.

blended this with the rooibos earl grey – very nice combo

Smells similar to candy peach-O’s while still tasting like standard black tea.

Five steeps yesterday. Five steeps today. This has got a nice green quality to it, but it’s still very young. A bit of menthol and mint develop mid-palate, but overall it’s a generally quiet cup.

I liked this a lot when I first got a sample. But the more I drink it the more I realize it is just mediocre to me. Not bad, but not something I am gonna stock up on.

One of my favorite morning black teas! The taste brings back many good memories. I just added some milk and brown sugar.
