New Tasting Notes

Still steeping. This oolong thins out pretty well by the third steep, but is still drinkable. And the leaves look oh-so-nice.

I really want to like this tea, because I love hot apple cider & caramel apples, but so far those flavors are so subtle, I can’t taste them. It seems that every time I give rooibos a shot, I’m always disappointed. I’m going to try steeping this a longer time and try again.

Drank this after dinner instead of the usual tie guan yin. Not sure why, but it suited nicely — especially since there’s a scene in the novel I was reading about drinking a darkish reddish tea and telling pirate stories.

First off, this stuff smells sooooo good. Orange blossomy with just a hint of cherry. I have to be honest, I’m more interested in the history, culture, and supposed benefits of this tea than I am the taste. It’s not as potent as I’d like it to be, so maybe two bags next time. If it improves my ability to concentrate this AM, I will surely forgive it 100 percent for tasting weak.

I was thinking Oolong to start my day and I have been craving Peach lately so this seemed to fit the bill. Pairing with my Breakfast…Bagel/Creamed Cheese…YUM

New delivery from Thiashola, as good as I always remembered it. Fiery, edgy flavour, with a crisp clear flavour, and golden orange cup. Mmm.

Needed the caffeine on a train station, but sadly ended up with a cup of plastic water with a teabag in it. I suspect the tea would have been okay, but all I could taste was the plasticky paper cup. Sad.

I enjoyed the tastes of citrus and the tea provided a calming effect. Very nice.

Drinking Spring Darjeeling again this morning. This is currently my favorite tea.

Trying this for the second time. The weird sort-of licorice aftertaste isn’t as pronounced this time, which is good, though I still don’t enjoy the way it lingers so long and makes my lips tingle. It almost feels like a mild allergic reaction, except that I’m not allergic to any of the ingredients. This really isn’t a tea I’d want to steep for long. The stronger it is, the less I like it. This tea and I are not a good fit.

Great tea. I keep this on hand to drink on a daily basis.

Very mild. I brewed this round for about a minute. I think next steep will be a couple minutes. Nice roasted flavors and rice aromas.

A spot of honey goes well in this great morning tea.
