New Tasting Notes

One of my favorite Oolongs from Samovar. Brandon made this for me this morning, it was the last of our stash. Very full bodied tea, floral nose with a buttery finish on the tongue. 2 pots of this helped put that extra step in me this morning. I wish I could drink this tea everyday without going broke.

Another cup. This re-steeps VERY well! :)

3rd steep: much lighter and sweeter than the previous steeps – getting more of the floral sweetness in this one

Somehow improved…and I’m brewing it better. With 160F water for 30 sec, this produces a juicy cup with some nice chestnut, warm milk, and bright greenness.

I think I should have let this steep longer, but the tinier tea leaves were leaking through the little infuser spoon I used so I got a little impatient. This would be pretty decent if stronger.

Had two cups today. Helped to wake me up a bit and feel at peace, but perhaps I went too far because now I’m feeling pretty overly emotional. Um?

2nd steep: not as intense, smoother blending of flavors

On My 3rd Cup today…looking for a simple but good black tea. This is IT!

This is such a soothing tea. I’m not sure green tea purists would like it, but to me it’s a really smooth tea with a lovely pepperminty taste. & I’m not normally a fan of peppermint, so I think that says a lot about this tea. I make sure to stock up during the hoidays, so I can drink it all year long. I bet it would taste great iced as well. Very refreshing for a hot summer day!

1st steep: not as sweet as I’d like, and the floral wasn’t at it’s strongest until the end – still pretty good, but not my favorite of this type of tea. we’ll see how subsequent steeps go…
