New Tasting Notes

Yum! Really tastes like chestnuts. Slightly smokey and sweet.

Infused in my gaiwan and drank in the bright mid-morning sunlight (only a couple of days of sun before the rain returns – ah, spring in the Pacific Northwest) and sipped the sweetness. I’m so glad I learned to brew this correctly — my first half-dozen tries were wayyyyy to astringent (hint, avoid boiling water, long infusions, or too much leaf).

Very strong lavender, and not at all herbal tasting, despite all the herbs. Really wish you could taste the rose!

I usually don’t drink flavored tea but this one sparked my curiosity. It’s pretty good but I couldn’t see drinking this everyday. Tangy cherry flavor comes through mostly with the sencha flavor lying underneath. I think it has added flavorings other than the Sakura. I only steeped this twice as I got tired of the flavor fast. Definitely worth a try.

Looks like piss. Smells like Lemon Pinesol. Why did I taste it? It’s like lemony ginger water. Yughhh.

Another cup – I see I have quite a bit left…don’t really know why…I like it.

Although the pineapple taste didn’t carry over to tea form very well, I still enjoyed this blend. It’s good hot, but much better iced. The flavor kinda makes me think of pina coladas. When I found out it was being discontinued, I bought a lot of it.

Yes, every day. I’m running low on this now! Twinings does what they set out to do: inexpensive, everyday teas to keep you going.

Today I can smell the Lime in this one…slightly. Nice but not overpowering tangy-ness to it.

I’m actually pretty impressed by this seasonal blend. It has a really smooth, creamy taste that’s just like eggnogg. If they bring it back, I might have to pick up a box. Makes a great dessert tea.

A nice simple white tea with a rich fruity sweetness. One of the best bai mu dans I’ve ever had, and one of the cheapest ($14 CND/lb)

Limited Edition tea, it reads, “When it’s gone, it’s gone.” Tis a shame! I hope they reconsider… Steep it in a clear glass and watch the pomegranate bleed to the bottom. Gorgeous water color effect!

I keep forgetting that the vanilla gives it a good, smooth flavor compared to normal rooibos. Anyway, it’s tasty, relaxing and makes for a good afternoon tea.

I enjoy the balance created by the jasmine white tea – sometimes Earl Grey can be a bit rough, as though the bergamot is covering up for the tea somehow. My mother and I created this blend to ensure that the jasmine, the fresh green flavour, the bergamot and the black tea’s depth are nicely poised.

Still one of my favorites. Love the refreshingly cool aftertaste that lingers in your throat. Like brushing your teeth with every sip!

I still think this smells great prior to steeping. Just like Strawberries and Cream Candy. During Steeping you can add a “wood” smell to that mix. A bit sweet but I still enjoy it. Nice cup!

Double cup water, single tsp tea, 4 minute brew, 4 raw sugar

Doubling the water and brewing a shorter time makes this tea a bit more palatable to me. Not as strong, with not so much of an aftertaste.

Delicious! It has a light but very yummy, sort of tart pomegranate taste. As usual with Adagio, the ceylon taste is strong, but I still love this blend. I’ll probably get more next time I restock my tea collection.
