“Teas I drink in a day Friday 12/22/23” 4
MUG: DT travel tumbler wintery theme, not sure how many ounces (12?) or what year this is from (2016 or 2017 I’m guessing?)
STYLE: cold brew pitcher
DRANK: on way home/home right from work
NOTES: Spearmint is my favorite mint so a mix with lavender as a cold brew is the perfect “rush and grab all my stuff to get out of work and to the bus stop/not miss my bus” tea.

“Teas I drink in a day Friday 12/22/23” #3
MUG: David’s Tea dark blue 20 oz tumbler (beat up my very first DT tumbler of this style)
STYLE: cold brew
DRANK: after lunch
NOTES: Another note indicative of my work week habits. So for years it’s always been one or two DT pitchers done as a cold brew (thank goodness we have a full size fridge at work and it was brand new purchase in like late 2019 or early 2020 I think?… so for a year or two it was barely used as the hotel obviously didn’t have many employees at the time). A while ago I started using tumbler to do an individual mug cold brew. Sometimes it would be a brand new tea that I’d put a PS or two in (or a sampler packet etc) and then brew overnight and drink the next day. Another common thing as I’ve been overall drinking more hot tea this year (of course more with the weather dependent, but I used to basically only drink cold brew and year round), I resteep the leaves from a hot cuppa as a cold brew and strain/drink the next day.
Yesterday I had two hot & plain cuppas of this tea, so tossed leftovers into my trusty tumbler and filtered out today to sip. In past month or so I’ve been drinking hojicha blends, this is one of them (ingredients: green tea, chocolate, osmanthus flower, natural apple flavor). TBH I don’t know what osmanthus flower tastes like but this just tastes like a cozy roasted cup hot and nice refreshing cold .
I see Kaylee has written about this tea previously and tried it different ways, since I have this huge bag to work on [and probably more as I have a bad habit from my handful of favorite companies, if a tea sounds good I’ll buy 3420842893483 bags of it or/and years might go by and not realize I already have said bags in my stash be like “oh that tea sounds good” and then purchase some or a bunch, clearly I have major FOMO/hording/etc. issues.] will definitely do some experimenting.

“Teas I drink in a day Friday 12/22/23” #2
MUG: David’s Tea winter/holiday themed color changing Nordic Mug, Fox and a few of the winter scene change with the hot water / 16 oz
STYLE: hot & plain
DRANK: morning/mid-day at work
NOTES: sipdown #6 for December
I was almost done with this 100g packet/box from T2 [have a bunch more in my stash I’m sure] but have been slim on official sip downs for December (will + a bunch of “XP” to this month after TTBs and gifting etc). I strongly leaved two hot/plain cuppas in a row, because why not drink a tropical fruity tea (pineapple/coconut + green) hot. I drink what I feel like, even if weird, so this was what I felt like. (and it would have been too much work at the office to use the 3 PS or so as one iced tea). It did the job but probably should have made the effort to make one iced tea because I over leafed both cuppas (made one, drank then repeat) and didn’t drink fast enough either time so they were just like a lukewarm/cooler cup anyway.
I love DT Nordic Mug in size since I like to drink big mugs of tea. I am not always a big fan of the color changing because I need things to be versatile like if I need to microwave or something. But I think this one was from my days of DT casual/super part time employee, because I don’t think I have the lid for this one. I brought it in from home a week or so ago because for past year or so I have been using one holiday themed glitter glass Nordic mug at my desk and I have 432854205842549 mugs so might as well get on board and not just hoard.

“Teas I drink in a day Friday 12/22/23” #1
MUG: David’s Tea light yellow base/lavender top 20 oz tumbler
STYLE: cold brew (leftover from the full pitcher yesterday at work)
DRANK: at work to start off my day.
NOTES (general of course because black tea especially plain is not my forte):
After I get through the workday (and I’ve been feeling down with general winter coughing/sneezing annoying ness since Monday) I have the first of two 3-day weekends coming with getting Christmas Day and New Year Day off. I figured why not do a “teas I drink in a day” Steepster/Instagram posts.
Although black tea is not my strong suit, I have to say 2023 I’ve have grown a slight appreciation of black tea in general and even EGs (! – this is not an EG, this is just a note of my tastes overall). I am not particularly sensitive or not to caffeine but been trying to integrate black teas into my mornings at work. I do have two or three gals from my group chat on IG who says they will help me out with offloading black teas, so perhaps will share this with them but this is only a 90 gram bag so wouldn’t be hard to just make some pitchers of this or even at home as I’ve been occasionally making some simple sauces/syrups for tea.

TeaTiff TTB cuppa #5 & 6 on Monday 11/20/23
I loved this tea! Made the last of the bag as a 20 oz cuppa in my DT tumbler at work, also re steeped and drank 16 oz hot/plain mug.
The black tea base with the spicy really was a nice mouth/throat feel. Like that little punch of the red pepper flakes/pink peppercorn made it a nice cuppa to sip hot/plain throughout the end of my workday and then at home in the evening. (Thank goodness I don’t have sensitivity to caffeine.)
Sorry Dani is no longer making teas but glad to get to try some of her blends from the TTB and I think I did make a few orders back in the day so should go find those in my basement and see if this tea was one of them. :)
Flavors: Spicy
TeaTiff TTB cuppa #4
So, this is the not the first cup of tea I’ve had from this box (it is the fourth) but it’s the one that’s bringing me out of a 2+ years hiatus from tasting notes.
I am doing a long shift at work today and I pulled some black teas to try while I am here. Not a big black tea drinker, but knew I needed to get through the day.
The leaves look all twisty and pretty dry and so I did one David’s Tea PS (which I believe is 2.5 grams?) in my 16 oz holiday Nordic Mug. I steeped it short (maybe 3 mins max?) let it cool and so sipping it warm at my desk. The leaves will be reused for a cold brew that I’ll steep overnight in work fridge and sip tomorrow.
It’s a nice enjoyable cuppa, nothing noteworthy to me as bad (and sorry, I don’t have the tastebuds and nose for any fancy tasting notes). It’s a good start to my morning. :)
It also delights me that reading over the tasting notes this is Martin’s favorite black tea since this is who I got the TTB from and wanted to especially try the teas he put in since I’ve never been to or had tea from Czech Republic!
Preparation
So, I said I was back for 2022 even though haven’t posted tasting notes since June 2021 and here it is almost the end of 2023. Well, I’m on the list for a couple of the TTB making the rounds and used to love posting here – I still read some notes and regularly on the discussion boards here and regular on Instagram – and I only drink tea so hopefully can get my about me info updated and get back to posting.
How is everyone?? :)
I am back for 2022!! I haven’t posted since June 2021 but I’m still sipping away, still reading the discussion boards and tasting notes (I’m only 68 pages behind from being caught up), still posting a bit (and following a lot) on Insta, etc. I don’t know how often I’ll be posting notes here but I’m going to try to do them sometimes. Hope everyone is doing well. :)
It’s not necessary to post often, but it is nice to se fellow Steepster member being active here now and then. It doesn’t matter if it is with comment, post on the forums, or/and posting a tasting note.
Enjoy your cup of tea and don’t forget, it is not mandatory to write a tasting note.
Welcome back! It’s good to take a break sometimes, I think. I disappeared for most of the summer and autumn too…I wasn’t really drinking anything new and felt silly making notes about the same things over and over with no new observations.
#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #241 overall / Tea #21 for June
Wednesday 6/16 — Churchill’s Teas African Sunrise cold brew pitcher. In theory this would be ideal for me because it’s a sencha green tea base with raspberry, lemon, and rose petals. I love green teas and I love fruity teas. I do not however like rose/floral and this is what it turned out to be, no signs of fruit. I guess my package in a sipsby box (not even sure from when since I got them regularly for like 2-3 years but now I just get a few a year) just did not give me that. No worries can’t like or love them all.

#tiffanys2021sipdown Tea #240 overall / Tea #20 for June
Wednesday 6/16 — Friday Afternoon Tea Lye/Truth cold brew glass jar sample packet. Wasn’t really my cuppa and I’m pretty sure that’s because of rooibos, one of my least very tea ingredients.
