Friendly and educated staff, great selection of teas and some of the most gorgeous cups/bowls I’ve ever seen. Because it’s a small business the hours can be iffy, so best to check ahead on social media or give them a call – I’ve tried to visit twice in the past year during opening hours but missed them both times. It’s worth the multiple tries though!
I went to this place after reading a review about it. I can’t say enough about it. I met two of the owners and they were very accommodating and helpful. It was Jared who spoke with me the most. He was very knowledgeable and I could see his passion for matcha shine through. He knows tons about it and made recommendations based on what I wanted. He didn’t automatically recommend the most expensive one. Jaga Silk goes beyond providing a service. They provide an experience. I will definitely go back there. There is more than tea there. As a beauty product junkee, I noticed that there are some body products, such as sun screen and lotion with matcha in them. This place is a winner.
WHY have I not been in before today?!?! Excelent service, the BEST maccha [matcha] latte I’ve ever tasted, warm and welcoming environment, tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of the downtown core, and just an overall lovely place to spend the afternoon! I’ll be back there soon, that’s for sure!
And for anyone looking for a tasty protein powder, they have a really lovely hemp based protein powder with sincle sourced maccha mixed in. I’m enjoying a protein drink right now and will definitely need to buy more soon. It’s really hard to find non-dairy, non-soy protein supplements around here, so I got really excited when I saw this one!
They don’t have their containers (jars/tins) sitting full on display, to preserve freshness. But if you find something you like, take the container to the counter and they will fill it with fresh product for you. If you have any questions, the staff is happy to help, or just chat about the joy of tea ;)
This is the place to go to for matcha in a variety of grades and preparations as well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable as well. There is a small amount of local made food, and there is coffee from The Fernwood Coffee company but this place is primarily for matcha.
