4 Tasting Notes
I’ve just had my first cup of Constant Comment and I can honestly say I dislike it…alot. It smelled like liquorish which is a smell and flavor I hate. I had trouble finishing the cup. I don’t think I’ll be finishing this tea anytime soon.
Preparation
I put a packet of this tea in my backpack this morning on the way out. While grabbing lunch I remembered I had it and asked the waiter to bring me a cup of hot water instead of my usual fresh lemonade. He looked at me like I was an idiot but understood later when I popped the teabag into the mug. It was nice. I’m not sure how long I let it steep since I left the bag floating around in the mug but that still didn’t give it enough flavor. I tried it before adding sugar and it had a surprisingly sweet taste. I think it’s a fine tea, it has an earthy quality I enjoyed. I might have to warm up to this flavor, though. I’ll give it a try later on this week and let you know how I like it.
I woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat so, I decided to make this tea. I filled my tea mug with water, popped it in the microwave for three minutes and promptly dunked in the teabag once the microwave stopped, adding in my usual teaspoon of sugar. The temperature of the tea was very soothing, but that has more to do with my microwave than the tea itself. The teas was soothing but I would have preferred more of a lemon flavor to it.
