1629 Tasting Notes
Today is coconut day. I made beans with coconut. Now I grabbed this wonderful tea! I received this in a swap from QueenofTarts. Thank you so much! I received a lot of bags of this.
The liquor was a dark yellow green. It smells SO FRICKIN DELICIOUS! The sweet and starchy scent reminds me very much of slightly sweetened plantains and coconut. I have never tried green rooibos plain, so I’m going to make it a point to try it plain one day. Anyhow, this flavored rooibos left me in awe. The coconut is but a hint, but it is there. It tastes real. The plantains taste real too. I felt like I was biting into a sweetened plantain. Man I miss eating sweetened plantains. I can’t seem to make it right here.
RAVE – this herbal rocks! I need this in my life.
Preparation
I received this in a swap a while ago I believe from Meghann so thank you!! :) This one smells very good! There are small yellow-white jelly-looking globs and slightly curled up, large, dark green leaves. The scent is light and fruity.
Upon steeping, the leaves unfurled into large, beautiful ones. The liquor was light yellow. Light floral scent. The taste… wow. I was very surprised once I tried it. It is very flavorful yet it is a light type of flavor. I’d say it overpowers the scent, which is generally unusual for me. It tastes like a light tangerine or citrus but the floral tones of the oolong stand out. How delightful!! I’ll have more steeps thank you!
Preparation
When I made my purchase from Butiki Teas, I received a small free sample of this oolong tea. I was so excited to try it but wanted to be in the right mood for it as I am generally a mood based tea person. The dry leaves look pretty. They are dark green, slender, and slightly spiraled. The scent is light and floral, which I love.
This held up to multiple small steepings. The liquor was a nice pale yellow, almost like the color of egg whites. The taste is very light with a hint floral notes. It is very refreshing and smooth. The aftertaste was a little small hint of green and nuts.
Good tea. I’d describe it as “dainty”. :)
Preparation
DISGUSTING! I sniffed this when I received it from a contest, and it turned me off. So I waited… and waited to try it this morning. I made it iced because I realized that “tropics” brings up thoughts of “tartness”, and I figured that making any tea iced will make the flavors mild. NO. I was completely wrong. This is disgusting. I felt like I was drinking fake fruits. Not the watered down fruit flavors, but like there is nothing resembling pineapple or mango in there. Maybe a hint. MAYBE. I eat mangos frequently. This tea is not mango. I’m sad to dump the whole iced tea down the drain and this tea in the garbage. I’ve never rated anything so low before.
Preparation
Sorry – I think you got this in a contest from me. I too did not like the scent or taste at all. I was hoping you would feel differently. If you look at adagio’s website, a bunch of people seem to love the way it smells and tastes. I just don’t get it at all.
I finally opened the aluminum pouch today. My boyfriend requested for the popcorn tea for breakfast. Love it! This one is delicious! The bag is pyramidal and the leaves are a decent size. Great tea! Den’s Tea never disappoints me. I love genmaicha.
Preparation
Theres a certain satisfied feeling that I get when I finish a tin of tea. This is how I felt when I finished Ceylon today. It is certainly tasty and one of my favorite types of black teas. Delicious with a small amount of sugar and milk. I love the tin though! I cleaned it out and will use it again later! Woo! Now I can try the teas that are waiting for me.
I LOVE this one too!
