1629 Tasting Notes
My glass jar of this is running down to its last bits. I think I have enough left for one more steeping. I’ve had this herbal for so long… this was in my newbie days when I decided buying a pound of this seemed like a great idea. While this is a nice, comforting, caffeine-free beverage, I didn’t need to go overboard. Anyhow, those were the good ol days!
Today I needed something comforting. My husband went abroad to visit his family for 2 weeks. I wish I could go, but I can’t fly now that I am becoming super pregnant. Sad. I know that the scent and flavor has probably died down throughout the years, but this still tastes good. There is the lingering sweetness mixed with the woody taste that rooibos brings as well as nuts and the light warmth of vanilla. This feels like a warm blanket has been placed over me… I feel all cuddly! Perfect beverage for a lonely night like this.
I wanted an evening green tea today. I chose this one as this is the only unflavored green tea that I have opened at the moment. I don’t like to open new teas right away either.
Regardless, I think I am feeling a bit down since my husband has to go on a trip abroad. I am not used to it, and I don’t know if I will get used to it anytime soon.
This is a nice, smooth green tea that is refreshing and a bit like nori and buttery. I brewed this at a cooler temperature because frankly, I forgot all about water I had cooling. This isn’t bad though. Not bitter and it goes down smoothly.
Preparation
I made this over stovetop today. This pairs so nicely with the coconut chicken curry that I made for dinner. We had several friends over today. My husband and I appreciate everything they’ve done for us so far.
The cinnamon disappeared a little bit after boiling it for quite some time, which is a good thing. I added condensed milk and a tiny bit of sugar for good measure.
Ooh, when are you due? Is it a boy or a girl?
I’m due June 16 and its a girl :) we are so excited!
Yay!!! Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for you! :D
