57 Tasting Notes
This one is definitely an acquired taste. I wasn’t surprised to find so many people disliked this tea. I thought it smelled incredible when I bought it, and once I got it home and steeped it for the first time I didn’t really like it. I found that the problem was that I was steeping it for too long, it really only needs about 2-3 minutes, otherwise it tastes very bitter. Adding a bit of honey was nice too. Overall not a bad tea, just misunderstood.
Really enjoy this tea (though I find myself forgetting about it all too often). Has a nice, subtly sweet flavour. It reminds me of the wintertime for some reason.
I bought this along with Pumpkin Chai and I found this one to be a little sub-par. Don’t get me wrong, still great. Just a little uninteresting, kind of tastes like a lot of vanilla chais I’ve tried in the past.
Given the amount of Sugar and Spice tins left in a bunch of different David’s Tea stores, I think many people agree with you. It’s interesting because for me this is actually one of my favorite teas. I think it tastes like spice cake and I love that it fills my room with the delicious smells of baked goods every time I drink it!
I still think it’s nice, I guess I’ve had too many that taste similar. Did you make sure to stock up? The winter collection comes out on Friday. :)
I actually went into David’s Tea today and bought 250 g. Something tells me this one won’t be coming back next year so I definitely made sure to grab it while I could.
Although I am excited to have a whole new collection of teas to try! Plus I am excited to see David’s Teas new flavor of the month on Friday. However, I need to resist shopping for a while. I am sticking to tea swaps and drinking what I already own for a bit.
Bought this on a whim from the fall collection and having been drinking it every morning for the past month. I went to stock up on some more before the fall collection is discontinued and they were sold out! :( Had to buy the Spooky Collection just to get a little more (only 25g). Going to savour what I have left and I’m anticipating it coming back next year.
I love this tea too!! I bought Chocolate Cake on sale before it was discontinued but I wish I bought Ice Cream Cake as well because I have a feeling it would have been something I would have enjoyed
Hm, never tried Chocolate Cake, I bet that one’s good though. Ice Cream Cake would probably be one of my favourites if it was still around. Birthday Cake just doesn’t compare!
I love the smell of Birthday Cake but it definitely lacks in the flavor department. I like Chocolate Cake because to me it actually does taste like Chocolate Cake – although to be fair I have been on a diet for a while so that may be a mind over matter situation. My friends are split on the chocolate cake tea as some agree with me and others think that it is good but don’t think it tastes like chocolate cake.
