41 Tasting Notes
First off, I haven’t been on steepster at all in months! Bad me :<
But today I woke up and decided it was a sticky rice puerh day so I’m baaaaaack :P
Pulled out my last piece of sticky rice pu-erh that was so generously gifted me and stuck it in my new-to-me tea for one set :) http://i58.tinypic.com/34odili.jpg
Preheated both pot and cup (via sitting under the pot) and steeped for 30 seconds. Such a delightful tea…I forgot how light it comes out! Wonderfully earthy and grassy with that sticky rice finish :)

Decided to make this again and was disappointed. http://tinyurl.com/n9h9l6b
I didn’t so much get almond chai as I did spiced orange. A nice enough flavor to have from time to time, but something I already get from Fava’s Winter Spice. Seriously, the only difference I’m getting is a little bit of almond aftertaste.
I’m so sad. This tea smelled amazing and I wanted to like it :< That’s what I get for giving it too high of an expectation, I suppose.
Preparation
With American Tea Room’s Brioche in mind, I decided to give this one a try. (Another new tea in my cupboard? That’s what I get for leading a friend in search of iced tea candy to Fava…)
The first flavor to hit you in this cup is reminiscent of another tea by Fava, Winter Spice. Not a bad flavor, but if I wanted Winter Spice, I’d just drink that, you know? Luckily, that initial flavor is pushed aside by bold roasted almond.
The tea is decent enough, but I wish I got more of the almond flavor without sacrificing the spice. I’m going to hold off on a rating until I experiment some more.

Another backlog (I’m sorrrrryyy)
This tea intrigued me from the beginning, and once I smelled it I knew it was coming home with me.
I’m glad it did.
Teavana must be improving their teas because I’m happy to say that this tasted of strawberry, grapefruit, and gasp green tea! It was sweet but more delicately so with actual tea being evident.
Pleased music27note is pleased.
This tea steeps absolutely beautifully. It holds the green/blue-green that is prominently green tea but within that it also holds a vivid pink hue from the fruit&additives. It’s pretty and aromatic and tasty and quickly becoming one of my favorites. I’ve started taking it with me when I visit my pseudo-sister.
Flavors: Strawberries, grapefruit, green tea, citrus

Backlog annnnnd I think the main purpose of today’s review is to show I’m alive .-.
I’ve been somewhat busy but tea is starting to take more precedence again so yay!
I received this tea from my sister-from-another-mother who picked it up as a birthday gift for me while she was at Disney World.
Overall I was excited…this seemed like the perfect gift for me…but the smell was, well, STRONG. I brewed up a cup for myself and my mother and was greeted with some fruit and spice but also a lot of floral. I’m currently cold steeping this tea to see if I can coax out more of the fruity flavor.
Flavors: Apricot, Flowers, Peach
Once again, I’ve gone far too long without a review. Naughty me! To further illustrate my naughtiness, I realized that I had started cold steeping this and forgot about it for days :( I decided to sadly trash the fridge’s ware and ended up inspired to make and ice a fresh cup.
I was excited because the tea ended up an absolutely gorgeous color. It looked like orange soda. I took a tentative sip and, yep, definitely ginger coconut, ha.
When I went downstairs I set my tea down on the windowsill. When I glanced at it I saw my Lloyd figurine seemed to be cautiously inspecting it. Accidental hilarity. http://tinypic.com/r/9jiyyr/8
Anyway, tasty as always :)
Flavors: Coconut
Preparation
Realized I haven’t written about my past few teas >.> Bad me.
Anyway, tonight I brewed up a blend I’m super happy with.
1 teaspoon (plus dried orange slice) of Winter Spice by Fava Tea
0.5 teaspoon (plus an extra clove) of Aries by Adagio
8 oz of water, 4 minutes.
I can’t tell you the exact temperature of the water as I had to put it in the microwave on beverage mode (cries) as our electric kettle 2.0 seems down for the count.
Anyway, this tea is absolutely delightful, delicious and soothing – something I really needed tonight. Rating somewhere in the 90s (it’s been a rough day so I don’t feel like particulars) and would definitely recommend.
Decided to mess with my steeping parameters today. Since this is an Adagio black tea, I wanted to try steeping it at 200 instead of 212. I contemplated going for 4 minutes but stopped it at 3.
Won’t do that again. At first sip, I was pleased. It seemed that I had a strong(ish) black tea with hints of spice. A nice way to prepare the tea when I wanted the overall body but wasn’t feeling up to the full spiciness.
So far so good, right? Not really. The spice is hitting me a different way is all. That, along with the extra sediment I got this time around, is tickling the back of my throat like mad and I can’t stop coughing after most sips .-. (On a side note, this would be a fun one to do tea reading with…)
That, combined with essentially failed latte attempts and my overall development of taste is knocking this tea down a bit.

Ouch, 96 to 88. How the mighty have fallen.

Oh my, I haven’t reviewed in awhile ;-;
Well, here goes. moraiwe felt comfortable giving me a small sample of this since shmiracles increased her supply. So thanks (directly and indirectly) to both of you because I’m a fan. :)
I’m all ouchy and shaky and just noticed I got herbal salve all over my keyboard so I won’t say much.
Bottom line: Really nice tea. Light to medium body with delightful fruity flavors that don’t overwhelm the palate. Mainly apricot with very subtle peach.
Bad news: I may have another reason to order from American Tea Room :P
Flavors: Apricot, Peach
Preparation
Very interesting, very tasty blend.
Good for anxiety and…caffeinated?! Say what? Yes, indeed.
When I created this blend I lovingly referred to it as “Calm yo Tits” and used it in place of anxiety medication when I had to avoid getting drowsy.
First sip embodies the white tea, citrus, lavender and sage.
Had it iced today so the initial ending note was that wonderful nutty/barley like oolong taste finished off with the jasmine green.
This is perfect for when you need the calm the f*** down but stay alert as well.
Flavors: Citrus, lavender, sage, jasmine, (barley)
~Made this outrageously strong today and put into a 16oz to-go tumbler with tons of ice cubes.
~Holding off on a recommendation simply because this tea is expensive as f. It’s gonna be a sad, sad sipdown when I get to it and I’ll have to find another way to craft it.
