I like green tea. I like jasmine. I like this tea.
Re-steeps well.
Not impressed by the quality of the leaves (lots of little chopped up bits), but I guess there’s a reason this is the cheapest jasmine green on DAVIDsTEA.
Flavors: Grass, Green, Jasmine
Preparation
Yes, this is what tea is meant to be. Wonderful smell (almost floral). Tea itself is sweet and subtle and very much up my alley.
Underleafed the first cup. Don’t do that; it’s not strong enough.
Had some weirdness with bitter pine/resin/plastic notes when I got towards the bottom of the sample tin. Not sure what to put that down to (lower quality leaf bits? wonky water? unclean mug?).
In any case, definitely buying a bigger stash.
Flavors: Grass, Honeysuckle, Pine, Sweet

I really, really wanted to like this, but I’m afraid I was expecting a green tea and cannot get past the rooibos. The taste is very strong, almost medicinal, and makes me feel slightly nauseous? Probably the rooibos.
I’d love to get these lemongrass and ginger notes on a proper green tea base.
Getting a plummy aftertaste on the second steep. Huh.
Flavors: Ginger, Lemongrass, Medicinal, Plum, Rooibos

I usually dislike herbal teas. Despite that, I really liked this one.
The lavender is fragrant and soothing. The fruit bits add a nice sweetness and a touch of tartness. I might have to buy a proper stash.
Flavors: Berry, Lavender, Sweet, Tart

Reviewing in retrospect. TBH, I don’t remember much about it. Given that I usually dislike herbal teas, that means this one must have been fine.
Will finish off the sampler and update this note later.
Flavors: Floral, Lemongrass, Mint

Reviewing in retrospect. It just smells so good.
Overleafed and oversteeped the first time around and still enjoyed it (even if it was a tad bitterer than I’d like). Learned from my mistakes, and the second try was light and fragrant, and the surprising peach really came through.
I may or may not have spent the rest of the day shoving the dregs of my mug into my friends’ faces.
Flavors: Astringent, Floral, Green, Jasmine, Peach, Smooth

Reviewing in retrospect. I remember really liking this and wanting to buy a 50g stash.
Nice citrus note that survived well into the 4th steep (because I am a barbarian and steep the teas I like to within an inch of their death). Took a groggy half-sick morning into a “gave a kick-ass long presentation” afternoon.
Flavors: Citrus, Earth, Ginger

Reviewing in retrospect.
There was a bizarre fake-sweet aftertaste (from the guarana? reminded me of 5 hour energy) that I could not, for the life of me, get over.
Flavors: Artificial, Citrus, Fruity, Ginger
