72 Tasting Notes
I so badly wanted to love this tea! It smells FANTASTIC in the bag – creamy strawberry with a hint of rhubarb. Unfortunately, I found when it was brewed that the tart rhubarb completely outweighed the other flavours. I added some agave, but unfortunately it made the strawberry way too sweet and still didn’t cut through the tartness. :( This was most disappointing since it smells so nice!
Preparation
Hm….. I had a cup of this this morning since I had the sniffles. It scent was great – very minty and cut right through the sinuses. The taste wasn’t great though. I think next time I might put some honey in it, that might sweeten it up a bit.
Edit: Ok, no, don’t put honey in it haha. The sweetness does not mesh well with the minty, and it feels very odd in my throat. Oh sniffles, do go away!
Preparation
This tea has gone up in my estimation, as has David’s tea on the whole (though it was already really high haha). As I wrote about this tea previously, my first sample size was delicious, so I purchased a tin. The tin must have been from a different batch, because it tasted slightly different, and I didn’t like it nearly so much – very disappointing.
Today I went to Davids to get samples of their new fall teas, and happened to mention this to the person serving me (she happened to be the manager, what luck!). She was appalled that I had had a bad tea experience, and gave me a 50g back of their current batch on the house. I was so startled and pleased by this unexpected gesture! All I had wanted to know what how often they got new batches of teas in! :)
I have been a regular at this store since I first discovered it a few months ago, and I have loved it ever since I walked in the door. Situations like this just keep me wanting to come back over and over. I’ve tried loose leaf teas at Teavana before, but was always put off by the overly pushy sales people and the teas never tasted worth the bother. Since going to Davids, I have had nothing but great experiences and it has opened up a whole new world of tea for me! :)
As for the tea, this batch of Cream of Earl Grey was delicious, and exactly what I wanted the first time round! I am so happy that my little sample wasn’t a fluke!
Preparation
I wasn’t really sold on this tea the first time I had it – it was good but not great, and nothing really stood out. The next time I made it I sweetened it and all of a sudden it was delicious! :) Very nice and fruity, and the pomegranate balances out the apricot flavour. Delicious!
