98 Tasting Notes
Dry: Smells wonderful, like kale or spinach fresh from the garden. Looks like garden variety Shincha, but a little greener.
Steeped: Nice light green color. Tastes a little like the sprouts Jimmy Johns used to use mixed with flowers.
Preparation
Alright, so this is a little odd to me but maybe to no one else but this tea smells like strawberry jam or preserves. This is before and after steeping, it’s not something I mind it’s just throwing me off a little.
That being said it has a very balances flavor that is a little sweet like jam or preserves. I could see myself using this as a base for a blend or just as an everyday sort of table tea.
Preparation
This is the second of two Dragonwell samples I was sent by Teavivre.
This one was a little sweeter then the first one I tried and seemed to have a more balanced flavor profile. The only negative thing I can think to say about this is that I wasn’t able to get as many steeps out of the leaves as I did with the other one. Though the steeps I did get were very good.
Preparation
So…. I’m a little in love with this tea right now. Here is why.
There is a nice sweetness to this tea, which is typical of this type, but still I love it.
There is also a nice grassy/floral note that really helps to balance out the sweetness of the tea.
It resteeps very well. I lost count of the times I was able to reuse this.
Finally, it looks really cool and calming while it steeps.
In close, I love Dragonwell and this is one I like.
Preparation
So, this is my own blend and I might be a little biased…. Scratch that, I am biased.
The look of this tea is just beautiful, a wonderful mix of colors. The taste is a balance between the sweetness of the silver needle and the oatmeal taste of the camomile. This does exactly as it should and relaxes the hell out of you. Everyone should drink this.
Yes, I am being conceited.
Preparation
:) love the humility! lol. Strangely Silver Needle can be loaded with caffeine. Then why do you feel relaxed while drinking? Theanine! I thought this was interesting: http://www.amazing-green-tea.com/white-tea-caffeine.html
Another tea I got while waiting. I liked this one a little more then the Dragon Well. There was a nice light jasmine flavor that wasn’t too obtrusive. You could also still taste the light flavor of the green tea that was sort of grassy and sweet. Complimented my hummus and veggie plate very nicely.
Got this at a small cafe while waiting for the gas company to turn off my gas service. It’s not the best Dragon Well tea I’ve had but it’s not bad. There is a nice sweet grass taste to it with a nice light mouth feel. This woke me up nicely and complemented my reading rather well.
