8 Tasting Notes
This tea is very strong smelling, with the predominant scent coming from the chocolate. Taste-wise, it’s a different story. Comes across as a mild black tea with slight chocolate and fruit notes. I need to get some plain rooibos to try, before I can comment on the effect it has in this mix.
Preparation
Enjoyed this with breakfast this morning. Was definitely pleasant, but nothing special. Tough to pinpoint exactly what was missing, overall the flavors were fairly muted. I don’t know that the Assam malty-ness came through as much as the description implies it ought to, which might be the key to taking this tea from enjoyable to very good.
Preparation
This tea is loaded with Jasmine. The floral notes overwhelm everything else. I’m really not sure what to make of it. It’s definitely bitter, in a way that reminds me of hoppy beer, so not all bad. I’ll probably be a bit better able to judge this tea after trying some other white teas.
Preparation
My favorite tea since starting this loose leaf tea hobby. I like the citrusy flavor of Earl Grey and that flavor note is bolder in this tea than in any bagged versions I’ve tried. Look forward to trying other loose leaf Earl Grey blends.
