I love love love Teaopia… The atmosphere is fantastic, the prices are fair, and the sales people are great.
For a lot of reasons, I wish it wasn’t bought out by Teavana… Their prices are higher for most of my staple teas (but not some of my favorites, which redeems it somewhat in my books), their sales staff is somewhat pushy, and even their teas seem stuck up… I am also somewhat appalled that they don’t have a plain peppermint tea… but am happy that Teaopia’s top 20 are staying in stock for a while… Their tea tins are also outrageously priced…
Silver lining: The sale has given me a the ability to experiment. As a result, I have discovered teas that I didn’t think I would like (and I wasn’t going to pay full price to try 50 grams)
Prices are more reasonable than Teavana and sales staff are very friendly. None of the pushy up-selling like Teavana (though that is still my main source of tea- it does get irritating). My only issue is that the tea is sometimes a little too creative for my tastes.
