I’m a bit undecided if I actually like this tea. It was my first tea from DAVIDs, on suggestion from a friend who was having some Genmai Cha when my DH and I met up with her for lunch on her recent visit out here…I mentioned that I loved Genmai Cha as well, and she told me about DAVIDs and Movie Night. I told her we had just gotten a DAVIDs here (she used to live here in Victoria but lives in Toronto now). Anyway, back to the tea…
Pros
-It smells wonderful.
-It tastes great.
Cons
-It tastes nothing like what I’d expect. I got absolutely no popcorn taste at all, and additionally, I got very little green tea flavour either. I got maple and apple all the way, and thought I was drinking a tisane/herbal tea.
-There is very little actual green tea in the blend…it is take up mostly with the popcorn and apple.
This tasted nice chilled…very light and refreshing, like crisp apple juice. I have been told that the steeping time, and amount of tea used, greatly affects the taste. As of yet, I have not been compelled to try more, as I am too busy trying other teas instead, and have found some Holy Grail teas (MUST stock up on Buttercream before it’s gone!). Maybe if it is still around come next spring or summer, I’ll get some again and play with the steeping times.
