This one has such a nice, strong, bright character on its own I believe I made a mistake by adding milk this morning…it didn’t clash, but it toned down all the nice kicky stuff. Ah, well, live and learn.

Added a spoonful of mate and a splash of milk this morning—both helped to tone down the honey flavor, which is a little strongish for my unsweetened preference. Mate for energy; milk for calcium…I believe this would now count as a nutritional drink.

Hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting this one until today—with my humble thanks to Jacqueline M.

Nice when you just want a pleasant sweet fruity topper-offer. Not a lot of extraneous spices. Just warm peach cobbler.

Ahhh…it’s back under my roof. Basic black, milk-welcoming, cold-weather staple that it is. Four lovely bulk ounces, minus a really, really heaping teaspoon to boot myself out the door this morning.

With apologies to Robert Frost — this tea is lovely, dark, and deep. I’ve miles to go before I sleep. Glad I’ve got this one close to hand.

I believe I like the second steep better than the first. The tangy edge is gone, and it’s just liquid suede now.

Made a huge pot this morning—needed something with a punch (on the label and otherwise) after a hard, hard Saturday. Left to himself in the fridge to chill, Thomas is, I believe, even a bit stouter than freshly brewed.

This afternoon I’m raising my mason jar in memory of a dear friend who loved tea, loved kids, loved to write, and loved her God. Jill, save me a place on your front porch in Heaven … we’ll have another cuppa together yet.

Somewhat belated, but still. My condolences for your loss.

Thank you. She loved practical jokes, and ironically, a week after her passing, I received an e-mail from her inbox. Spam. I can just see her laughing maniacally and slapping Gabriel on the shoulder watching me try to figure that one out.

This is what I consider a pretty stereotypical oolong, with nice big dark green leaves, a sharpish flavor, and a nice smooth heavy texture. It isn’t as drying in the mouth as some oolongs, but that’s a plus as far as I’m concerned.

Been a long while since I’ve had a cup of this’n. It’s chief appeal after a weary week is the lack of care it requires. Toss it in, leave the bag as long as you want, it’s all lemony-mint comfort. I could take a bath in it. Actually…hmmm….how many bags to a bathtub? :)

This was a staple in my pre-tea days, it has been ages since I had a cup.

Just a personal quirk, but I don’t generally start putting milk in my tea until the weather turns, which it finally did this week.

Knew I’d need some bucking up today, so I made a really strong tumbler of this—deliberately oversteeped—then lightened it up with some half and half. Oh, yum! Coffee personality came out to play.
